Weaving the Worlds: WEA's Event Series

As environmental degradation deepens worldwide, the need for strengthened community, collaborative approaches, and an empowered citizenry is becoming increasingly essential across the globe. WEA works to break down inequalities, pool our collective efforts, share the very best of practices, and ensure that the voices of both men and women are heard in developing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.

To this end, we have created the Weaving the Worlds (WtW) Event Series. WtW broadcasts the heroic work of women working at the front lines and cross-fertilizes knowledge and learning among WEA's global community. WtW emphasizes the dynamic intersection of women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability.

WtW creates powerful opportunities for people to learn about WEA’s vital work and directly engage with our global network.

The Weaving the Worlds events series includes a Speaker's Series, house parties, an Annual Gala, and other creative community-building events.

Annual WtW Gala

WEA's Gala event gathers the Bay Area regional WEA community in order to celebrate the work, thank supporters, and invite further participation. View photos from the 2009 gala!

WtW Speaker Series

WEA's Speaker Series invites key leaders in the environmental and social justice community to engage in a lively dialogue about their work. We invite global leaders, powerful musicians, poets, and others to share with us their stories, perspectives, and wisdom. These events are not to be missed!

WtW House parties

Weaving the Worlds house parties are designed to support the efforts of WEA environmental advocates around the world and grow the Women’s Earth Alliance Community.

We invite you to join the amazing community of people who have created a Weaving the Worlds event in their home. We will help create an incredible experience for you and your guests. Contact info (AT) womensearthalliance.org with questions or find out how to host your own!

Each time we gather, the world changes.

"Advancing gender equality, through reversing the various social and economic handicaps that make women voiceless and powerless, may also be one of the best ways of saving the environment…The voice of women is critically important for the world's future—not just for women's future. "
