Improving nutrition and reducing stress for food insecure populations.

Joy Williams MFA, MPH, MDiv, is a speaker, writer, and curator of spiritual experiences. The most prominent of these holy experiences is bringing together food security and toxic stress mitigation and prevention, and being able to write and speak about the complexities of our global food system. Joy is the Director and Founder of Hope to Thrive, an organization with a holistic produce pantry and garden designed to increase the daily intake of fruits and vegetables of food insecure populations in the Carver School Area Neighborhoods in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The Holistic Produce Pantry aims to improve nutrition and reduce toxic stress and other leading causes of illness and death, including heart disease, Type II diabetes, by offering free therapy, free produce, and opportunities to build a different reality.
