Joy Williams MFA, MPH, MDiv, is a speaker, writer, and curator bringing together food security and toxic stress mitigation and prevention. Joy is the Director and Founder of Hope to Thrive, an organization with a holistic produce pantry and garden designed to increase the daily intake of fruits and vegetables of food insecure populations in the Carver School Area Neighborhoods in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Hope to Thrive aims to improve nutrition and reduce toxic stress and other leading causes of illness and death, including heart disease, Type II diabetes, some cancers, and obesity by building community, knowledge, resiliency, and healing for its participants.
