Affiliations & Roles
Siti Aisyah is the Founder and CEO of Bank Sampah NTB Mandiri (NTBM), which has grown fast over the past few years to over 300 customers. NTBM has partnered with craftsmen that regularly supply upcycled and recycled products, as well as employ people with different backgrounds and abilities. Since 2014, it has been a Corporate Social Responsibility partner of the State Electricity Company in West Nusa Tenggara. In collaboration with JICA, NTBM also launched Takakura Organic Compost.
Siti's passion for the environment and education lead her to start a non-profit organization focused on ecology education called Yayasan Lombok Eco International Connection. It was established in 2016 and is aimed at educating youth in ecology and environment. After the earthquake in 2018, most children and families in Siti's region lost their schools and homes. In her efforts to rebuild what was lost, she created the “Eco School” program, which now includes four environmentally focused schools in Lombok. Siti sees the Eco School Initiative as an investment in the future through education and community empowerment.
