Michelle Voacolo is an advocate for improving education, public health, women's rights and the environment. She is the Co-Founder of Micronesia Climate Change Alliance (MCCA), a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to creating community-based solutions to the climate crisis within Micronesia. Michelle leads MCCA's efforts to build food sovereignty, reduce waste, and empower youth. Michelle also serves on the board of the Climate Change Resiliency Commission on Guam and is a part of the Guam Green Growth working group which focuses on developing local initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development goals. Michelle has also been a part of the Climate Reality Project and has received her certificate from the Yale School of Public Health in climate change and public health.

Michelle aims to expand MCCA into the other islands throughout Micronesia, bringing awareness to the plastic pollution issues in Guam by holding workshops and strategic networking events throughout the region to highlight the plastic crisis while encouraging the construction trades sector of the island to engage in this program. Michelle and MCCA hope to create 1,000 recycled products by the end of the year, and help provide sustainable products to their customers, on top of the already 500 pounds of plastic they have recycled.
